Fishing titles for the Sega Dreamcast – or any console for that matter – have "novelty game" written all over them. Surprisingly, InterAct's Fission Fishing Controller and a copy of Sega's latest, Sega Marine Fishing has eaten up more of my time than I care to admit.
The controller offers motion sensitive responsiveness and the feedback function gives a reasonable emulation of a hearty strike. While it cannot, by nature, offer a real reel resistance feel (though it tries), it does jerk around spasmodically enough to give the vague sensation of having one's relaxing day in a boat with some buddies and some beer interrupted by some ornery Marlin.
