Mating the conventional FM Tuner/Amplifier with new-tech audio devices such as MP3-players, computers, discmans, surround sound home theatres and FRS portable two-way radios, C. Crane's new FM Transmitter allows just about any audio device with a headphone or audio line-out jack to broadcast sound to any user-defined station on your FM dial.
Powered by two AA batteries or an AC/DC adapter (included), this pocket-sized device lets you listen to your personal MP3 player on a boombox at the beach or the radio in your car; listen to a televised hockey game on the old clock radio in the garage or send streaming internet radio from the PC in the den to the stereo in the living room.
The FM Transmitter broadcasts in stereo with good, gain-adjustable signal strength within a 60' radius -- even through walls, floors, windows and ceilings (with some signal loss).
Sound quality various form barely adequate to enjoyably good -- though it will never best hard-wired audio. Too, it's pricey--definitely a "luxury" item--but with all the modern single-function audio devices out there, the FM Transmitter gives them that much more utility.
A great little unessential gizmo.
