Technology is getting small enough to pass as jewelry. The remarkable iFP 190T is a digital music player that looks like a small metallic Toblerone bar and hangs around your neck on a silver wire like a little high--tech necklace.
The device weighs in at 1 oz and so it's comfortable to wear and unobtrusive. The gadget has an earphone jack (that fits the included ear buds) and tiny screen to show all kinds of data about song that is playing including song and artist, as well as tiny little equalizer and volume control. The screen is backlit so you can read it in the dark and operates on a single AA battery.
What's even more amazing is that the device can play either MP3 or the Microsoft developed WMA audio files, plus it doubles as both a voice recorder and FM radio.
Add to that 256 MB of memory which allows storage of about 50 songs and you really can't go wrong with this device. It's one of those products that make gadget lovers weak in the knees.
One might complain that there is no expandable memory in this device, but where would an external data card plug into it? I'm sure iRiver will find a way in future products but for now the iFP--190T is a tiny little perfect audio player.
