My One Remote Phone

Here's a conundrum everyone's faced at some point: "Should I buy a Universal Remote Control to replace the four remotes sitting on my coffee table? Or should I but a new cordless phone?"

Ok, maybe not "everyone," but those who have faced such a dilemma will be pleased to know there's now the My One Remote Phone, featuring a conventional cordless phone on one side integrated with a full-functioning IR universal remote on the other (sold in Canada as "Cordless Phone & Remote Control All In One," just so there's no confusion as to its singular dual function).

The remote can be programmed to handle up to four modern devices including a TV, VCR, DVD player, Home Stereo/Theatre, Cable Box and Satellite Receiver.

The 900MHz cordless phone side includes an LCD Display, Caller ID, 26 number speed-dial memory, a hands free port and a Date/Time Clock. Both devices run off the 3.6v onboard Ni-Cad rechargeable battery (recharger/base-station included). All the various buttons on both sides offer enough resistance to stymie mis-keys when cradled on the shoulder or squeezed vigorously on a channel surf.

For those who can wait, there's also a more powerful, 2.4GHz model due out this summer.

"Hello? Dr. Phil's on Oprah? Oh yes, so he is..."
