Hewlett Packard really gets it with the OfficeJet 6110. This is truly desktop size all-in-one machine that prints, scans, copies and faxes too. And it does all this in a really nice little package that measures 19.5 x 15.5 x 11.8 inches and weighs 24 lbs. It's kind of the size of a small microwave.
All-in-ones or multifunction printers, as they are known, have traditionally been super-chunky. But the 6110 series has been hit, seemingly, with a shrink-ray. ZAP! And now it fits in your little office all snuggly in a corner of your desk.
The system has remarkable features: It prints at 19 pages per minute in black or 15 pages per minute in color. That's in yucky draft mode. You'll get 2 ppm for high-quality print outs and half the high-quality speeds when printing in regular every day quality. And if you use premium photo paper you can get a resolution of 4800 x 1200 dots per inch. For the non-technical folks, that's an "oh nice!" color 8x10 photo.
And yep, it faxes like any other fax machine. The device, which connects to either a Mac or PC, has a flatbed scanner with a lid and sheet feeder. And it's all very well integrated. Even the price is reasonable. You can get all-in-ones cheaper, but it won't be this zippy and well-designed.
Whether you need an all-in-one for your crafts hobby or a production machine for your small business, this system is one of those hot little pieces of technology that's going to be very hard to resist.
