For those flummoxed by the finger-smudge cursor interface built-in to most laptops, IBM's Optical Travel Mouse brings a workstation controller to the commuter's computer while keeping in theme with compact and durable portability.
It's full functioning but half the size of a regular mouse, with typical left and right buttons plus a scroll-wheel/third button dead centre. Moreover, this techno-rodent employs an optical reader instead of a conventional underbelly trackball, so it does not need a mouse pad or even a flat surface to perform; it's perfectly effective on a cramped airplane tray, an armrest or even the shirtsleeve of an oversized traveling companion bulging into one's itinerant lap-station.
