S300 Color Bubble Jet Printer

The market may have slumped, but technology never stopped working toward cost-effectiveness. In fact, two years ago a colour bubble jet printer would not have been capable of what Canon's latest entry-level ink-spitter can do, not at this price point, anyway.

The small and surprisingly quiet S300 boasts print resolution up to 2400 x 1200 dpi, making for photo quality prints at home-hobbyist prices. Of course, it can churn out black & white documents with equal ease, too, making it a graciously affordable solution for school projects, small or home-based office productivity and digital leisure pursuits alike. It's also speedy and efficient, rolling off almost 8 pages-per-minute (ppm) in colour, 11 ppm in B&W.

It connects to the PC or MAC via USB (only) and come with a modest suite of image editing/management software.

Replacement ink cartridges start at US$7 or CA$10 for black, US$25 or CA$40 for the colour set. High gloss photo paper can run as much as $1 per page, but isn't necessarily necessary.
