Though you can still spend thousands on super huge, ultra thin, brilliantly lit, crazy clear HDTVs, the humble 32-inch HD television has become a favored default size for those looking for the middle ground between visual chutzpah and budget compatibility.
The Vizio VOJ320F1A LCD HDTV is one such unassuming new-generation television offering a good balance of price and performance. It's a 16:9 widescreen that features 1080p resolution at 60Hz, 3 HDMI inputs, 2 component inputs and an RBG PC input as well as jacks for ye olde standard definition A/V devices. Though it lists for $599, dealers are selling the VOJ320F1A for around $500.
Picture quality on the VOJ320F1A is remarkably good, verily stunning for a TV at this price point.
Unfortunately, the same can't be said for sound as the unit's built in speakers leave much to be desired. Unless "weak" and "tinny" are music to your ears, it's best to patch the audio out of the VOJ32F1A and into your home stereo - if there happens to be one nearby, of course.
Still, sound issues aside, the VOJ320F1A 32" LCD HDTV is a fine television for the bedroom, where you might not need much audio fidelity for your bedtime news cast or talk show.
The VOJ320F1A would also suit a den, especially considering it'll function as a computer monitor. Bear in mind that its 60Hz refresh rate and 6.5ms response time means fast action computer games will look terrible on it, all blurry and washed. But it'll suffice for basic home-office productivity, YouTube videos and Facebook FarmVille-ing for sure. And it's a TV, too.
Considering the VOJ320F1A's entry-level pricing, it's pretty easy to suffer the unit's lousy sound (if not mitigate it altogether, as mentioned). It's certainly a good "starter" HDTV, after all, and even a decent fit for a small apartment or bachelor pad - or any household that doesn't consider "big huge" and "crystal clear" audio/video a priority, because the VOJ320F1A offers neither; just a good picture at a decent price.
