Wireless Xbox Adapter MN-740

One of the best features of Xbox is its innate online connectivity. It allows players with a broadband Internet connection and an Xbox Live subscription access to a global pool of pals to play with and against, downloadable game content and all that other Generation-Tech stuff.

However, not everyone has a broadband modem in their bedroom--some people don't even have one in the living room next to the TV and stereo, for crying out loud. No, it's in the "den" or, worse, the "sewing room" where the computer is kept.

The Xbox Wireless Adapter not only invisibly connects an Xbox to your broadband service, it does so at state-of-the-art 802.11g Wi-Fi speeds, which, in layman's terms, is ludicrously fast. Moreover, the thing practically installs itself, with the Xbox instantly recognizing the device and configuring it for you.

This is all useless, of course, unless you also have a wireless router/gateway/home network device connected to your broadband modem. Naturally, Microsoft offers those too, with the MN-700 54Mbps Wireless 802.11g Base Station offering equal art-of-stateliness for $99.99 (CDN$149.99).

The downside of all this, of course, is the two or three hundred beans you need to invest to replace $20 worth of Ethernet cable...
