XA3051 5.1 Speaker System

Hard core videogamers and resolute couch potatoes can step-up the audio portion of the boob tubing experience with Altec Lansing's XA3051 Ultimate 5.1 speaker system.

Jacking into any sound source--or, specifically, the audio outs on the back of a game console, DVD player or contemporary TV set--the sci-fi styled, 6 speaker Dolby Surround Pro Logic XA3051 features a center channel, a powered subwoofer plus two front and two rear (stereo) speakers.

The bundle comes with all the appropriate cabling (though you might want to buy speaker wire extensions if you're going to tuck some down along the baseboards) and is a cinch to install.

Powered on and controlled through a wired remote (which also has two headphone jacks for late night/quiet time usage), it delivers 100 watts total peak power, which is slighter than serious home theatre buffs might employ, but costs a great deal less and delivers more than enough oomph to effectively rumble your glutious maximus like a good surround sound system should.

The thing is, no matter how much you might have paid for your TV set, the dinky speakers therein are nothing more than pathetic when to the compared to audible glory of a room-wide, self-powered, bum-thrumming surround sound system. The XA3051 Ultimate delivers said glory.
