GameTech Reviews
When Sony revamped and re-released the original PlayStation game console as the delightfully diminutive "PSOne," intimating also sorts of portable fun and gladness, they didn't seem too keen on accommodating the actual players of portable game systems.
Perhaps they were waiting to see if anyone would pick up on the idea of an old-is-new device, a videogame "Discman." And seeing as Sony just released a proprietary PSOne LCD monitor -- conveniently, just in time for the holiday shopping season -- that might very well be the case.
Renowned for their luxury class, high performance audio/electric accessories for musicians and audio purists, Monster Cable has jumped into the videogame business in a big way. Their new line of "Monster Power" products includes the very best in rechargeable batteries.
InterAct's Mobile Monitor One is exactly the type of simpatico peripheral - a backlit LCD display - one would expect for a transportable console.
Because Sony’s PlayStation2 only teases us with hard drive and Internet capabilities while delivering neither, InterAct Accessories fills a nagging void with SharkPort for PS2.
Where brand name hardware from the likes of Microsoft, Madcatz, Logitech and InterAct can only pretend at durability with their polycarbonate plastic racing wheels and appendages, Canadian based Act Labs offers absolute beefcake with their Force RS (Racing Systems) and RS Shifter ensemble.
Fishing titles for the Sega Dreamcast – or any console for that matter – have "novelty game" written all over them. Surprisingly, InterAct's Fission Fishing Controller and a copy of Sega's latest, Sega Marine Fishing has eaten up more of my time than I care to admit.
